Le Dîner en Blanc begin as a strictly word-of-mouth event. Since its inception, the principles fueling Dîner en Blanc Puerto Rico have not changed: At the last minute, the secret location is revealed to thousands of friends who have all been patiently waiting to learn where “Dîner en Blanc Puerto Rico” will take place. Hundreds of people dressed all in white and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space. Dîner en Blanc Puerto Rico guests will gather at a secret location with the sole purpose of sharing a gourmet meal with good friends at the heart of one of their city’s most beautiful locations.
Over the course of the evening, guests experience the beauty and value of their city’s public spaces by participating in the unexpected. Beyond the spectacle and elegance of the dinner itself, guests are brought together from diverse backgrounds by good taste and a love of beauty.
Launched out of love and resilience in the wake of Hurricane Fiona’s devastation, “PR, I LOVE YOU” (also known as Cities of Love PR or referred to as “PRILY”) stands as a beacon of Puerto Rico’s unyielding spirit. This spirit, defined by unity and perseverance, led to the establishment of a certified 1101a2 and CECFL (childhood poverty eradication) certified non-profit that goes beyond mere assistance—it’s a heartfelt movement that embodies the essence of Puerto Rico.
Deeply rooted in PRILY’s actions is the belief in the “Pay It Forward” movement. We’re here for outcome. Our guiding principle revolves around spreading love, compassion, and inspiring acts of kindness without expecting anything in return. Our focus extends from ensuring food security by aiding our island’s dedicated farmers to providing essential support to the hardest-hit communities, especially those still grappling with the aftermath of natural weather events.
Since Hurricane Fiona, we have led over 70 missions in 29 municipalities volunteering time and donations to assist some of the hardest hit communities and homes, including 14 farms with 997+ days of donated labor, mitigating 48 roofs for families who had been having major leaking problems, and more. Puerto Rico, I Love You has birthed a ‘pay it forward’ movement in Puerto Rico. We’re on a mission to continue inspiring acts of kindness without expectation and uniting those with abundance to aid those in need.
Today, Dinner en Blanc Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico I Love You (PRILY) would like to inspire each and every guest today to make a commitment to do an act of kindness which you would accomplish before the end of 2024. It does not matter how big or small the act is, but with such an abundant group, lets’ dream BIG and make a commitment for the biggest act of kindness that you can do!
Within the next eight months you have the opportunity to impact the life of another, or an entire community. Tonite, together collectively we will have chance to make a great impact to help Puerto Rico!
