On May 8, 2024, heavy rains brought flooding conditions into San Sebastian, PR. Puerto Rico I Love You became aware of a single mother with two children, who lost everything including their car. A couple in San Juan, followers of our social media, stepped in to help. They donated furniture, clothing, and personal care items to give this young family a chance to start over. We were able to help out with an outstanding volunteer who, with our Director, used their combined skills in Tetris to fit everything into another volunteer’s pickup truck. Many smiles at the end of a well-organized effort to show how pay-it-forward benefits all.
